Apple’s hosting of iWeb sites is going away. I have an old site out there<\/a> that will end and I will not bother to save any of the content. It was more of an experiment for me.<\/p>\n

I think iWeb was a reasonable product and it would have been useful for individuals wanting to maintain a small site (e.g., a classroom teacher). I just don’t think Apple understand the social, open web. Maybe Apple does understands and would prefer that as many Apple-friendlies as possible move in a different direction.<\/p>\n

Anyway, for those who own the software and want to continue their site, MacWorld<\/a> offers some options for hosting the content elsewhere. It is probably important to understand this is a temporary fix. With no one committed to the authoring software, the utility of what you now know how to do will diminish with time. It might be time to accept the inevitable and look for a new tool for your creativity.<\/p>\n
