The local paper had a piece today on the Snow Goose crisis<\/a>. It is an interesting situation for biologists. The snow goose is doing very well and this is not good. The breeding grounds for the goose is above the Arctic circle and the birds pull up the tender vegetation by the roots. Because of the growing season the birds can eliminate the vegetation faster than it can reproduce.<\/p>\n

Situations like this make a great webquest<\/a>. I developed one based on this situation many years ago and the article today just reminded me.<\/p>\n
