I was into LOGO programming when it was in vogue as an educational activity. Aside from learning the basics of programming, I became disillusioned when the research demonstrated little in the way of transfer.
The idea keeps resurfacing. Mitch Resnick recently made coding the focus of a TED talk. My personal career has benefited from learning to program, but I am still not convinced that there are general benefits. I am waiting for those who back this perspective to offer more than their own presentations.
