The Today Show offered an interesting piece on the increasing use of public libraries. Internet access is a large part of this change. People looking for work and people giving up their home wifi are showing up at libraries to use  the Internet. In many locations, smaller communicities, the library may provide the only free access to the Internet.

iSchool Initiative

I think the Touch is a great tool. I think it has some weaknesses as a complete solution. However, it seems a reasonable starting point for Apple to move toward a tablet net device (I like the sound of that). The iSchool Initiative proposes the present device is at least a place to begin.

Proposed renaming of netbooks

According to Gizmodo, Microsoft is advocating the renaming of netbooks (Low cost small notebook PCs). Too complicated. How about – “cheap, sometimes good enough PCs“.

I guess I still like netbook.
